Harcourts Foundation Mans Up for Prostate Cancer in 2016

Landmark Harcourts are very proud to announce that through the Harcourts Foundation we will be continuing to support ManUp! For Prostate Cancer in 2016.

For over three years, ManUp! have been promoting awareness of prostate cancer through public education, community events, and advocacy for men and families affected. This is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men, and over 3,000 men die of prostate cancer every year1.

Early diagnosis and treatment not only saves lives, but can also significantly preserve the quality of life. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma associated with this – research indicates that men living in regional and rural Australia are less likely to undergo testing for prostate cancer and more likely to die as a result2.

In 2015, for the second year running, Landmark Harcourts sponsored the ManUp! For Prostate Cancer Rural Education Program, which travelled around regional Queensland and Victoria. More than sixty regional and rural communities were visited and at least nine men were captured in the early stages, tested and received potentially life-saving treatment as a direct result of their community engagement and public events.

Our offices in Tasmania, Gympie and Wodonga deserve a special mention for donating additional funding to ManUp! through the Harcourts Foundation in addition to our corporate sponsorship. The Harcourts Foundation has raised a global total of over $3.5 million. For more information on the Harcourts Foundation, visit www.harcourtsfoundation.org.
